Finally back in SB and already started working, even though I officially start at 9am today. Tried to get myself a bit ahead with work, and I did but still much more to get done. I should get a lot done this morning but I need to get to sleep! I am so wide awake though, dang it.
The train ride was smooth with no complications. There were several students heading back to UCSB but I still managed to find a two empty seats so I was pretty comfortable. I couldn't find an empty space for my luggage at the end of the car I was in so I had to put it on top of my seat. Damn suitcase was so heavy! and I did not bring everything I accumulated over the break, so I will have to return this weekend.
The train ride this time seemed so fast since I watched a movie that pretty much lasted the whole train ride. I rented 500 days of Summer before I left home. It was a cute movie, and funny but I couldn't laugh as much as I wanted since I was in the train and didn't want people to think I was crazy, lol
So when the train gets to SB I usually call the cab if I didn't arrange a ride before hand, so that when I arrive at Goleta I can just get into the taxi and head home. I called right as we were leaving the SB station, and the dispatch lady seemed perfectly competent and said sure we will have one. Well I should have known it was going to be utter caos when we arrived in Goleta since like I mentioned before several students were on the train heading back to UCSB. When I got of the train I headed straight to the taxis, there were several of them from different companies. I had called Gold Cab, of course there were like seven of them, mixed with other taxis as well. Several students getting into all the taxis, people talking, this man with a mini bus calling out to everyone if they wanted to a taxi. Totally looked not legit! lol so I start approaching the Gold Cab taxis and non of them seemed to be for me, I was getting annoyed since the reason I called was to avoid the caos I was dealing with. I went to one side of the madness and called Gold Cab again and this time I was annoyed so I asked the dispatch lady what happened to my cab and she said well there are several cabs there are they not, and I responded that they were but non seemed to be for me. I did not want to ride with other students, not because I think I am better than them or anything like that but I wanted to get straight home and not shuttled through Goleta dropping off students in SCat, IV, then Manzanita, the rest of the buildings and finally me, which is usually what happens becuase my building is the furthest away and closest to the beach. I just wanted to get off the train, get in my cab head home and be done with it, well it didn't happen like that. The dispatch lady said she would have the taxi driver call me, well he didn't for a few minutes so I got even more upset and ended up getting in another taxi van that already had four students in it, and of course exactly what I did not want to happen, happened! first SCat, then IV with two students, then Manzanita Village and finally me after a half hour of the ordeal of figuring out what taxi I was going to get on and then being shuttled all through Goleta like a damn bus dropping off everyone first! The only thing that come out good from this whole situation was that I only had to pay 8 dollars instead of 13 or 14 which is what I usually end up paying.
Well to bed it is for now
